Sluggish/Slow Throttle Response Fiesta 1.4 TDCI

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am having  an problem  with  my 2010 Fiesta . When pressing  the accelerator while driving  the care take 2 3 seconds to respond then when coming  off accelerator again it takes 2 3 seconds  for the engine  to respond  as it keeps  going.  No fault codes are stored  in the ECU and when reviewing  the engine at idle  the throttle response is normal . I was wondering  if anyone  has experienced this.  The engine  is the  1.4 diesel.

What device / software are you using to determine no fault codes.

Clutch slipping ?

Clutch  il perfect no slip no revs on acceleration just delay between  pushing  the throttle and then the engine  responding  . I am using  an Autel Mk808

Maybe bad turbo or leakage in intercooler pipes.

Can you hear any odd sounds while driving?

No sounds pulls very  well  turbo  kicks in as should  is feels like the throttle  pedal  just doesn't  react as you  press it or depress it 🤔

Do you mean when you come off throttle it keeps on accelerating?

I thought if there is a turbo lack when you are pressing pedal.

Yes for twos second  the engine  still  remains under load then deaccelerates.

Car has pick up it is just this delay  between  pressing the throttle  then the car reacting

Throttle body seizing? Sounds like it's not responding quick enough

im currently driving a 1.6tdci with the same issue, not sure what it is havent looked into it scanning with forscan comes back with no codes and as the OP says pick up is fine after the couple of seconds of delay while it thinks about it. coming off the power (eg. lifting off the pedal not changing gear so no use of clutch) it holds speed then after a couple of seconds you can feel it slowing.

I have same issue. But 0.5sec delay in throttle response. Whether pressing or letting go of the throttle. In a 1.4 tdci fiesta mk7.
