Ford Black 64 paint mixing code

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a 1987 Ford Sierra which is painted in “Black 64” (most probably cellulose) paint. I believe “Black 64” was a very common colour and, according to my local Ford Main Dealer, was the only colour black that Ford offered in 1987 – in fact they told me that black was an “optional extra” on the Sierra in 1987.

The colour code shown stamped on the VIN plate of my car begins with “A” which I believe is “Black 64” and is also referenced at the following web page : https://www.ford-capri.ch/technics/technical-data/colour-outside.html

It am looking to find some suitable “Black 64” cellulose touch-up paint but all the paint companies I approach ask me for the “colour code” to mix the paint.

Please can anyone tell me what the colour code (perhaps FEU, XSF or equivalent) is to mix the equivalent of Ford “Black 64”?

Thank you in advance for your help 🙂
