Apple Car play and Android Auto Question

My Focus Titinium appears to be a September 2017 build but doesn't have Apple Car play or Android Auto. It is an exhire car would that mean it isn't installed on these cars as I can't find it inthe menus in the sync screen?

    If your home screen is split into 4 squares you have Sync 2 and no Carplay.

    It only appears in the menus if you have a compatible phone plugged in to the USB ports.

    That only appears after a phone has been setup iirc.

    It's always best to use the cable that came with your phone too.

    Yes, ensure you use a genuine (iPhone) cable or a very good quality android cable.

    On first connect with an iPhone you sometimes have to unlock the phone to activate, this can be turned off on iPhone.

    If it's still not showing, go into Sync 3 settings, perfom a master reset and try again.
