Vacuum Pipes to Turbo components - Deterioration

A potential fault to be aware of is age deterioration of the turbocharger system vacuum pipes and connectors.

When recently repairing a 2012 1.0 Ecoboost engine the 2 into 1 connector to the vacuum solenoid valve cracked during handling (brittle fracture).

More recently, 800 miles after repair the car had a gradual then complete loss of turbo boost. On inspection, a rubber vacuum pipe to the same vacuum solenoid valve (front position) had split (see photo).

Easy to see, access and check. Don't assume a loss of boost/power is one of the major components.
