Diagnostic tool

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend a diagnostic tool for my 2013 Focus. Particularly I need it to test the rear camera and parking sensors.

You won't get very far using a generic diagnostic unit as it won't see many of the Ford specific DTC's.

Get a laptop and download FORScan (it's free) and use a good ELM327 lead (buy from Tunnelrat Electronics) or better still get the new vLinker FS cable.

Then will be able to read all the DTC's and it will give you diagnostic information with the code.

FORScan: https://forscan.org/download.html

ELM327 lead: https://tunnelrat-electronics.fwscart.com/USB_Modified_with_switch_ELM327/p4541936_17045457.aspx

vLinker FS lead: https://www.bmdiag.co.uk/forscan-diagnostic-cable-for-ford-vgate-vlinker-fs

Hi Unofix. Thanks for the advice. I've just ordered the Vlinker fs.  I will download Forscan. I had vag com with my vw and it was really good. I hope the forscan is as good.

Regards Colin.
