Some Advice

Just wanted to see if I should be chasing something up with the dealership or whether it's wasting my time.

My friend noticed a while ago that there there was this "seal" missing on the door. I'm not sure what it's actually called but as you can see it's down the side of the door itself. Only the rear driver's door has this "seal", the others are all missing.

It's a MK4 Focus and I've not long put it in for it's 2 year service. I've had it since new so these were definitely not on the car from the start. I did raise the issue with the guy at the dealership and he said he'll look into it for me but hasn't come back to me.

Do I bother chasing Ford for these? I've not had any issues with the car so far so I suspect maybe they aren't exactly crucial to it's running. If someone could also give me the correct name for them and confirm their function that would be great. And even better, if someone could provide a part number so I can look these up and possibly send these over to Ford that would be even better - I've tried searching but I've not found them unfortunately.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

That's where the door edge protectors would be.  I assume your car wasn't specced with them.

And you might find that there is another hole at the front of the doors where the plunger that operates them should be.

Your looking for this part (1838419) but without the hole in it.

Sorry don't know the number for the edge protector blank. If you have one fitted then the number is often to be found on the inside

I've got a few in my tool box. Tend to find them scattered about  . And never know which vehicle they come off. Supprised the other 3 stayed on to be fair.
