Howdy all, 

 

So just bought a new Ramair RPF-1869 filter for the momo, the question I have is about the lid on the airbox. 

Do I leave it off when the new filter arrives 

Do I mould it, drill it 

Or do I just leave as is 

 

I've seen YouTube videos about lads shaping the lid with heat and some cutting slots in them.. 

 

What do you lot recommend

Seems a waste of a pretty filter to put the lid back on...

Best performance will come from using the RS lid and diverter.  

If you're just after noise and not bothered by a little heatsoak then you can leave the lid off.  However, I have seen a few fussy testers fail MOT on airbox lids missing.  (As part of the new emissions tampering regs.)

Yeah I saw something about the nct over hear about missing lids, where would I get the rs lid and diverter for it

Ah, I didn't see your location on mobile, no experience with NCT I'm afraid.  Plenty of RS lids on eBay.

Having no luck finding and rs lid for my 09

 

Might have to dicky up my stock 1 and see how that goes 

The cylinder-filter airbox is the same on both Mk2 and Mk3 isn't it?  I can see a few on eBay, genuine new, genuine used, and aftermarket versions.

I wasn't sure if the mk2 and mk3 are the same, most of them that i found said mk3
