My ForScan tells me it's cureent version is 2.3.13 and the latest is 2.3.46 when I open the main screen that's at the top.

Do I have to download the whole thing again, or can you update it from within ForScan itself? 

Can anyone link me to a reliable source if I need to download it as I'd like to keep it updated, don't think I have ever updated it since I first downloaded it a few years ago.

easiest way is to uninstall and reinstall the new version, keeping a note of your extended license if you have one.

Forscan website itself will give you the download.

Just click the link it will down load in less that 60 seconds. It just installs over the top of your existing version and will automatically keep your licence.

Do I have to enter the Activation code after downloading that latest version?

I downloaded it and when I click on the "About" button, last one on left column, it tells me it's vers. 4.3.47 and in the window under that it give me a button option i can click to "Enter activation code"?

It also gives me "standard licence". Hardware ID: xxxxxx-xxxx

"Load licence key"?

Also, I thought I had the extended licence version, has that perk being deleted now am I required to re-request it? It's just I notice it states "Standard Licence", as already quoted above?

The paid licence for FORScan is at this moment not available due to the trade restrictions with Russia. I'm not sure what the situation is with the free extended licence, that may have been withdrawn because of the current east / west political problems.

I will try and get some up to date information and post back

So was I better off not updating? Did updating lose me the free extended licence? Yeah, be great if you post back when you find out some more.

FORScan lite for iOS suspended

 

Last weekend I installed Bootcamp onto my Macbook, so I could use Windows. I then installed downloaded Forscan, however no way of using my free licence key that I had used on my old windows laptop. So I went on Forscan Iand just paid for the extended licence.

Well that's very interesting. I'm not sure how they will receive the payment as the credit card companies can't send money to Russia. Even the FORScan forums are saying you can't buy the licence at the moment.

An update on this matter. FORScan never took the money directly, it went through a German payment collecting company but they stopped sending it on because of the sanctions. FORScan have now found another payment collecting company who will send the money along to them.

I think Apple are not paying FORScan so no IOS FORScan Lite, but Google must be because you can still but Lite the last time I checked.

PayPro Global (PayPro Global Europe) took the payment, I received my invoice and Licence Key

I've just 5 minutes ago updated my FORScan from version 4.3.42 to the new version 4.3.47 with out any problems and with out needing to do any sort of activation.

The free 2 or 3  months is the full version. When you pay for the extended license Forscan or whoever will email you a code you need to enter into the box, copy and paste rather than type it to avoid errors. I also printed the code on the receipt as a hard copy.

There is no difference, only that the 'free extended licence' only last 60 days. The paid version lasts either 1 year or 2 years depending on how much you pay.

The 'free standard licence' does not expire, but it has limited programming capabilities. It will still read all DTC's and you can clear DTC's. It also allows some basic programming, but for example you can't use it to make changes to the security system.

 

Buzzing my bits off, finally managed to get Forscan and ELM config to run. Actually saved my GEM files to my desktop. Gonna stop there for today haha. Swap the cluster over tomorow gonna bathe in my success. 

ELM was erroring when started in MS-can, when started in HS it told me to switch it then sorted itself out and connected.
