I have a mk3 2016 Focus Titanium 1.6 petrol. I am confused that although it is equipped with GPS and a SD card slot I’m told that Navigation is not available unless I fit new screen and other electronics, is this correct?

you can activate navigation through methods online but if your unit originally had navigation and for whatever reason the license ran out. i have been told if that's the case then youl need to physically  replace the unit behind the screen to get nav.

some pople said they took it to ford before it happened and their car returned without nav

1. How do you know you have GPS?

2. Do you have a button marked ""Nav" or "map" on the dashboard?

3. Who told you nav is "not available unless...." ?

1: GPSM is standard in sync2, that's how they grab your location when you have an accident.
all cars with sync2 have navigation capable hardware in their car already. it's just locked out software side and no SD card.
3. how much you wanna bet that the car originally had navigation but it was replaced with a unit that didn't have nav.

if you have a sd maps card in the sd slot, the sat-nav will work. if you have no sd card it was tell you on the display to insert sd card for nav. think you may need to read your owners manual so see what you have on your system, it will stop everyone guessing then 😉
