Focus st line 2021 mk4 auto

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 6 month old focus estate 1.5 diesel st line auto. Thing is when the car is locked or open with the ignition off I can hear relays clicking from time to time.
is this normal? Also after about 5 minutes after the ignition is turned off there is a thump from the speakers. Again, is this normal?

cheers Rod

All perfectly normal, it's just the car waking up or going back to sleep. The car starts the wake-up process the second you unlock the door. It can take 5 to 10 minutes before it settles to a steady state.

When you switch off and lock up, it takes between 20 and 30 minutes for the car to fully shut down and go in to sleep mode.

The speakers sometimes can make a bit of a thump, but not normally every time, and dependent on the volume setting.

You will probably also find you will need to charge the battery every few months, again this is quite normal for many drivers. Welcome to the era of allegedly eco friendly motoring.

Unless you tell the car to charge the battery to greater than the default 80% capacity - if the stop-start ceases to work, then search this web site for stop-start problems!!
