The valve stem was snapped by the tyre change mechanic on the Fiesta 2015 JA8 1.0 Ecoboost manual, and I bought/fitted a Schrader 2020 EZ 20deg 433Mhz internal sensor for the mechanic to fit.  The car TPMS did not automatically recognise the unit, and in desparation I tried a EL-50448 scan tool - turns out this one is only good for GM/vauxhall.     Then I bought a EL-50449 (around 7-10 euro) on Aliexpress like photo.  Delighted to say it worked first time!!  I followed the procedure found on many websites to put car in 'learning mode' :

Relearn Procedure for Models WITH STANDARD IGNITION.

• Inflate all tires to pressure listed on vehicleplacard.
• Turn ignition to OFF position and press and release brake pedal.
• Cycle ignition from the OFF to RUN position 3 times, ending in the RUN position.
• Press and release brake pedal.
• Turn ignition to OFF position.
• Cycle ignition from the OFF to RUN position 3 times, ending in the RUN position.
• Horn will sound once,and the TPMS telltale will blink once, indicating train mode is initiated. If equipped with a message center, it will display TRAIN LF TIRE.
• .Starting with the LF tire, use your TPMS scan tool to scan each sensor in the following order: LF, RF, RR, LR (and full size spare if equipped). The horn will sound once each sensor has been recognized.
• After training LR tire, the message center will display TRAINING MODE COMPLETE. If the vehicle is not equipped with the message center display, successful completion can be verified by turning the ignition to the OFF position and not hearing the horn sound. If the horn sounds, then the training procedure must be repeated.
• Turn ignition to the OFF position.

I really hope this helps someone in the same position, was certainly worth the money for me to try.
