So ive got a 5 yr old mk3 with 140000km 80000 mi of mway only  driving 

Great car and so far no faults 

Just routine maintainence and cam belt change

Engine light went on and off a couple of times and then stayed on in limp mode  

Could still drive at 60 on mway

Got a obd reader and found code 1103 maf out of normal reading 

Cleared the fault and the took out the maf which was in an oil bath due to the engine breather

Cleaned it all out with brake cleaner and now runs like new 

Be forewarned that loads of oil spray gets into the maf and airbox due to no catch can
