usb audio not connecting to iphone in 2012 fiesta

Featured Replies

Hi

So I just got a 2012 Fiesta a few days ago. It has a Usb slot and an aux. When I plug my iphone in the usb, it starts to charge the device but will not play any audio. The volume bar on my phone disappears when plugged in so its trying to do something. It  says that there are no files on the device (it also says that it is an ipod when it is an iphone). Is there a workaround for the usb to connect to iphone and play audio for maps/spotify or am I best to stick to aux.

Thanks for your time

Typo - the car is 2012 reg NOT 2013

So back in 2012, (10 years ago now !) Ford didn't predict that in 2022 iPhone 57  would be out and so didn't design the car to connect with a product that hadn't yet been invented.

You could of course use an ipod
