secret test on mk2 focus

Featured Replies

Hi How do I find access the test ie fault codes, engine temp, battery voltage etc on mk2 focus, thanks

If we told you that, we'd have to kill you... :ninja:

Seriously though, just press and hold the 'set/reset' button on the left hand stalk while turning the ignition on.  Release the button once 'test mode' has been entered.  And then cycle through with single button presses.

You're unlikely to get any meaningful fault codes from that function but the other tests can be useful.

prefect, thank you, same as my old ford puma, i did try that and it just reset the trip mileage

I'm guessing if your car doesn't have a 'set/reset' button on a stalk you're just stuffed, right?

Not necessarily.  I haven't tried it on lowline Mk2 clocks, but it might also work by holding the trip reset button while switching ignition on instead.  Feel free to try it and let us know!

Yeah, that works too

It should work on a 2006 Mk2, it does on mine. As above hold in the trip reset button from before ign on to the point where it changes to display mode.

To decode the fault codes from the cluster, if there are any, see:

brilliant, worked a treat, thanks everyone

Just tried it - works a treat, thanks Tom.

On the LX cluster, do you cycle through the tests by pressing the trip mileage reset button?

What tests can it do?
