Mk1 Focus suspension refresh advice

Featured Replies

Hi all...

I have a 2002 TDDi estate with a mere 130,000 miles. It has a few problems I aim to fix myself, one of which is a knocking from the rear suspension. It was looked at by a garage who couldn't find anything. My research suggests a worn shock top mount so given it is the original, 20 years old and not expensive I figured I'd just replace it and see! And.... while I'm under there thought I might as well change a few other bits too as I intend to keep the car for quite a few more years. I will later on do the front too.

My question is, what would you change? Everything, perhaps in stages or just certain specific parts?

I'm good with the spanners but short on experience!

Thanks.

Look at the rubber bushings, consider poly altho a little more expensive.
