Why dont people warn you hahahahahaha. Drove over to see my mech this morning, and as i entered the old warehouse where his unit is my cluster lit up. Hadnt touched the switch, allegedly its a feature on 2.5 clusters LOL

Is that without the lights on auto setting?  I did 4 years/30k in a Mk2.5 and can't say I ever noticed!  Though I did always keep the lights on auto, so dash illuminated when the lights came on anyway.

far as im aware NOT on auto, as i said this clusters a whole new learning experience. previous would warn me with 50 miles left to empty and count down, not sure if this does. Tho it does seem like my MPG has gone up, put £30.00 in and it said i could go nearly 280 miles, previously £30 would get me 120 before the yellow light came on, unless its still learning as i cleared all held data and driving styles.

Why the sad Stephen ?

I so misunderstood your OP LOL When you said, 'lit up', I thought you meant all the LEDs were going nuts and you had the infamous solder issue!

New cluster and solder checked before dispatch even zero'd the mileage that many others cannot do. The guy i got it off has been amazing nothings been too much trouble.

Well I've learnt something there then!  Even on my specialist subject of Mk2.5s!

Should still get the same 50 mile fuel warning on the facelift clocks.  IT wasn't until Mk3 when it changed to a variable mileage warning.
