Sync Update Fail. Anyone seen this before?

Tried to update my SYNC 3 2.4 with USB. Went to Ford's website, entered my VIN to get the correct file. Followed instructions to a T... After the message on the screen said "update complete, remove USB"  I did. Got out, locked it, restarted engine and now my screen looks like this (half the size and only a radio tile).  I tried reinstalling, same. Been like this for a week. Called tech support, said to take it to the Dealer. Dealer kept it 3 days and said know idea what to do, but they think I was given a 4" screen update (wrong file). Anyone seen this before and got it fixed?

Use the Cyanlabs site and get your download file from them.

https://cyanlabs.net/

Also have you tried disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes, as this will cause the system to fully reboot?

Hi unofix, Disconnecting battery didn't work. Thanks for pointing me to cyanlabs. After browsing awhile, I'm starting to think that is the issue... the previous owner probably got their update from cyanlabs and when I went to Ford, the version I got was not compatible.  Looks like I need to get forscan and an obd adapter to get more details.

You can download a "reformat" tool from Cyanlabs. It will clear the Sync system. You can then get the full up to date automatic upload from Cyanlabs. They are the same files as from Ford just packaged in a diffrent way that makes it far more user friendly (and faster) than the Ford site.
