Red battery light

Featured Replies

Red battery light staying on won’t go off.Tried everything battery is new,new alternator had diagnostics check and seen by Auto electrician who couldn’t find any faults.Low generator load code.ECU being checked for second time but previously no faults found.

Sounds a bit like bad connections, 2007 or thereabouts Focuses can suffer from this whether it’s at the fuse box under the LH dash, in the instrument cluster or elsewhere.

often generate fault codes in obd.

Did the auto electrician confirm you’re getting 14V or so out of the alternator? That would confirm if it’s the alternator or not. Also worth looking at the drive belt to make sure it’s driving the alternator ok.

Sadly in my experience a new alternator isn’t always reliable, I had a genuine Ford reman unit fail after only a month ☹️
