2019 TPMS issue

Featured Replies

Hi all. Apologies if this has been posted before. I’ve had a ongoing warning with the front left tyre (Ford wanted £90 just to diagnose the issue)  so before I fetched it down to kwickfit, (£80 to replace the sensor) I thought I’d check one last time…. I switched the tyres, but the car is still saying it’s not reading the same front left wheel .
So is there a sensor near the hub?

The issue pops after after a few miles (usually motorway) everyday , it’s a fault, (can’t see the wheel) not a warning of low pressure

any ideas?

It's possible that @iantt can offer advice. It would seem that the problem is with the receiver and not with the tyre pressure sensor.

Possibly a damaged or loose connector some ware in the wheel arch.

The wheels corrode on the Inside and let air out that is one issue or the valve can become corroded/dirty also. I hate TPMS coming from older cars this is just a PITA.

In this instance the OP is saying they have swapped the front wheels over and still the front left is showing as a fault, so it would be my assumption that the fault is with the receiver and not the TP sensor inside the tyre.

Hopefully correct I wouldn't be surprised TBH.
