Fiesta MK6 Engine query

Featured Replies

Afternoon All, Quick one.

I have noticed the barrel that mounts the top of the engine which the oil cap screws into is snapped on one corner. It is splurging oil once hot. Would anybody have an idea as to what this part is.

I have linked a picture to try show what bit it is.

the cap it’s self is fine, the plastic cyclones it connects to has the clips snapped off causing it to leak!

Thanks in advance 😊

Oh dear !!!

That's going to be a timely and expensive fix for such a small problem. You are going to need the rocker cover replaced.

I'd try cleaning the area thoroughly using Isopropanol  (IPA) get it on Amazon. Then when totally clean and free form all traces of oil, you could try using Araldite epoxy adhesive to seal the crack.

Really…. Hmmm it looks like it’s connected with X3 plastic clips though. I would say you could probably turn the piece it’s self but I don’t want to shear it off.

Luckily 4 days rest so I may try your solution! Thanks 🙏🏻 👍

I think it’s this part (red squared) unsure though. Looks like it screws into the cover almost.

Very good 👍

I thought you were meaning the plastic ring, which is part of the rocker cover was broken. If it is just the plastic tube that clips in to the ring then that will be a nice easy fix.

Zetec SE was just a bit of branding...it's not actually a Zetec engine, just to confuse things!

So the part is the same on all the petrols in the Mk6 (except 2.0 ST).

Brand new one here but can obviously get used or aftermarket cheaper if desired.
