Fiesta MK6 Troubleshooting hmmmm

Featured Replies

Hi all,

So I have a query which could be anything! My fiesta I purchased 5 weeks ago has receipts for new timing belt, reconditioned gearbox, full engine service, new top mounts, new radiator and new pump (uncertain if it’s water pump or steering).

I have noticed there is almost like a burning smell and a rush of heat which comes and goes every 15 minutes or so. It’s worse after Nat speed. The smell is like a pvc / oil smell.

I have set the air intake back to OEM as that was at fault and I have also noticed the breather pipe is split but waiting on Ford for the number as the one I ordered doesn’t fit!! I have also replaced the expansion tank which was ***** fluid and have a new engine oil filler pipe on order as it’s also split.

I have done some clutch tests and it stalls from set off in 3rd but can pull you along at 10mph… hoping it isn’t the clutch as I’m Brasic….

There doesn’t seem much power either unless In 3rd or 4th gear but it’s 14 year old with 100k. I just need it to see me through this year 🤞🤞

any thoughts on what this could potentially be?

many thanks 👍
