Upgrading to ST225 radio

Featured Replies

Hi, not sure if this has been previously discussed but I've been looking into doing a radio swap on my mk2 (06) Focus estate for the one that comes standard in the ST225 (think its the C307 / C214 model). As this has the dual zone climate controls I'm guessing there would be some amount of changing the heater matrix and possibly some loom work too, but I was wondering whether anyone had attempted this before?

My focus has the manual heating controls so I accept there would likely be more work than just swapping the radio and fascia, but was intrigued to know just how in-depth this could get.

I had thought of going the easier route with an aftermarket radio, but with the ST225 radio being OEM I feel that would look somewhat more at home.

I've attached an image of the radio in question below, it would be replacing the original squared style 6000CD.

Any and all expertise would be greatly appreciated.

I’m sure someone will be along soon with more details but I think you’re looking at a massive job and even if it’s done you’re looking at a system that’s over 10 years old in its features and design. More like 15 years or older in truth.

Think you’d be better getting an android display that fits into your standard fascia (companies do versions to suit lots of oem fitments) or one of the larger units that comes with its own fascia which replaces your current Ford one.
