Alternator OEM plug

I was wondering what error/lights or problems would arise from me not hooking up the OEM alternator plug? I got a aftermarket HO alternator but I have to bypass the orginal plug and leave it unhooked.

    Well other than the smart charging circuit been completely disabled, the alternator running at a default charge rate, the battery eventually being over charged and it's life shortened, it will be fine !!

    Oh, I also expect that you will get the warning light on the dashboard for the Alternator not charging.

    I think you need to get the proper alternator for your car. 👍
