Looking for some help please.

 

Ford Smax 2.2 200bhp txs, I have a hesitation intermittently between 70-80mph, Sometimes feels like it does it at slower speeds but harder to judge, Tends to be around 1800-2300rpm, when it hesitates you can just apply a bit more throttle and it pulls lovely, no other faults, does not bring up engine light or no codes stored in the system. Its really starting to annoy me, problem is its not done it for 2 months but then yesterday on a  380 mile trip, after 260 miles it started doing it. but then the other month it done it after 40 miles, so you cant reproduce it.

 

Things done so far, Full service, including 2 fuel filters, now just waiting for a genuine filter to arrive.

Millers fuel system cleaner been run through on the last 5 tanks of fuel.

Injectors have been removed and tested. All ok.

 

It was mapped 3yrs ago, and then ive had egr blanked and deleted since to see if thats what is causing it.

 

Im at a stage i want to sell it but at the same time i love the car, but I dont know where to go with it next.

 

Any ideas welcome.

I have a 2012 2.2tdci, and mine has done the same for the past 4 or 5 years - I normally get fault code that the dpf has failed to regen. I have tried changing the secondary injector and vaporiser without any luck. Next will be changing the dpf itself, although I am doing this also as the flex is starting to leak fumes. 

Overall the car is so perfect for our needs that I have put up with it, if it’s too bad on a journey then I drop to 5th for a few minutes, normally this rises the revs and stops the juddering.

 

Probably too late an answer but have you checked the pipe from the turbo? I had an issue with the car randomly stuttering and losing power and I thought it was a gearbox issue but it was a split hose from the turbo and very easy to fix.
