hello ev1, i have the same problem with my cluster, just wondered if you could cast your brains on this problem. i sent cluster away twice both times they confirmed they fixed a problem with it(£260). basically the cluster is plugged in but it randomly goes on and off, everything the lcd and icons, when its working i can start the car, if its off i cant, if i am driving and it goes off the engine still runs bt nothing works no indicators etc. i havnt got a clue someone mentions bad earth under battery compartment. i dont think its the cluster anymore?

Check the ground point for the IC and GEM, just opening the glove box and looking to the left top you should see a black wire connected to the A pillar area. Remove the glove box and you should be able to get to the securing bolt.

thankyou dan, i wiil try it ,ive seen it, will undo and clean it, i feel its a lose connection or a bad earth somewhere, but i cant find whats causing it, the garage sent the cluster away twice,and said there was a fault, but when i plug it backin, it starts doing the same thing.....on n off randomly.

UPDATE ON DASH CLUSTER!!!!

the cluster was sent back to cluster people for a 3rd time, and apparently, after dash having two faults the first two times it was sent back, it  is now irreparable, and i am not being told what is wrongor why they cant repair it. and now i am being quoted for a new cluster from ford. anyone know whats going on?
