Climate control issue

Featured Replies

Ive been having issues with my climate control for a while now and since the latest heatwave its spurred me on to look into it. In short, whether i choose automatic or manual climate control, the fans power up as normal, blow for anywhere between 1 minute to 15 minutes then stop dead. No matter whether i change the temperature, fan speed or anything, it just dies. On the last MOT i asked the guy i use to check for any fault codes. The only one that came back was in the picture; B10EA-00 “positive temperature coefficient heater”. Not sure if thats related or not. I havent the foggiest what im looking at really. Has anyone else run into a similar issue at all? I was going to just pay for it re-gassing to see if that helps but knowing my luck it’ll be money wasted. Any help is appreciated as i have no clue. it’s a 2014 ford fiesta zetec S 1.0 ecoboost.

Well my first port of call would be Kwik Fit to get the system tested for refrigerant and refilled as required. Until you know that you have the correct amount and the correct gas pressure (with no leaks) I wouldn't waste too much time looking for faults you might not have.

Also, Snap-On are an excellent make of tools but very often do not show Ford specific DTC's. You will get more information using a laptop and the FORScan software (it's free).

Unofix. Thanks for that info. Ill have to see where i can get booked in. I imagine its peek period for aircon checks. Id also put money on there being a tenuous link to a world crisis that makes air con refrigerant a commodity now and therefore expensive as heck 🤣
