I will be changing my screen on Wednesday

got a good pair of hands with me (my dad)

so i will be taking this out of the car, changing the screen, and putting it all back again

 

I wont be connecting to a laptop first, so hopefully, i can just change it as someone said, and it should all work

 

ill fiddle with the cable before i take out the cluster first, but im quite sure its not that

i just hope it is the screen and nothing else lol

good luck buddy. its fairly easy just fiddly to open. if its not that just run a soldering iron over the solder joints to remelt them see how that goes

once i put it all back together, then ill have to trip it all again to solder ! lol

think i got it for xmas / birthday when i was at school/college , otherwise i wouldn't have had one

todays the day , bit of a bugger to get the cluster out, but wasn't too bad overall

I am excited to announce that just changing the screen Worked at treat !

 

went from orange background and orange text to black background and red text, its soooo much better than the one that was it it originally

 

back of the old one was orange, think this one was black

 

i am really happy that it worked, and very happy its a better colour than before too !

glad it went ok and it works would like to see a pic of it . if you want it to be orange take the orange part of old screen remove the clear one i put on the screen i gave you and it will be orange yuk lol

i didn't think of that, i don't know if its just stuck on or what, but yeah no thanks ! lol

 

I do have a pic of the old one when i had problems with it, ill get a pic of the screen tomorrow morning if i remember so you can see the difference

 

so what's yours like mate ? any different to mine  ?

Soldered SMD bulbs if your good with an iron

shame i didn't take a picture of my screen just before it died, as the picture i have is like a year old
