Passenger front door not locking

Warning on dashboard saying "Passenger door open" and interior lights coming on.

When fob is pressed to lock, doors lock then immediately unlock. Occasionally opening and closing the door will cure the problem but I was not happy to take the car out in case when I left it, it wouldn't lock.

I fixed the problem by removing the passenger front door lock electrical connector and bridging the cables that would feed the 'door open' warning. On my car (2008 1.6 TDCI) it were cables that would terminate in pins 6&8 at the lock.

Not an easy job but a replacement lock is as much as £170!
