Does the Maypole Battery charges charge EFB battery if so which model would you recommend if not which other charges are any good

Doesn’t say if it changes EFB batteries

I have one and the answer is Yes.

Stick to a maypole I think take it you just charge in standard for EFB batteries then

Personally I press the menu button to select AGM/EFB charging.

I've never used the standard lead acid charge function but I expect it would still probably charge.

I recommend the Maypole, use on my car with no issues.

Just contacted maypole and they said the maypole 7423A charger wouldn’t charge EFB batteries

Where does it say that?  Looks like typical generic rubbish, simply copy & pasted from the user manual by 'customer services' that have no understanding of their products.

EFB can be charged in normal mode.

Actually the User Manual makes no mention of EFB, but since it's a type of wet lead-acid it should charge ok in standard mode. Unless you specifically select a mode within a few seconds of switching on it automatically detects the appropriate one anyway.

Most chargers have a separate mode for AGM batteries, but as EFB is just an enhanced version of a wet battery you use the "normal" program.

The C-tek and Noco which are both popular with members on here, also make no specific mention of EFB in the user guides:

I’ll try at the weekend in standard mode then

Just to add to this, if you look at the charging cycle that these chargers give you using normal lead-acid it is very similar to how the Smart Charging system on my car at least charges as you are driving, except it does not stop at 80%.
