Boot won’t open, no electrics working in boot, fuse is not the issue

Featured Replies

My luggage compartment won’t open with the key or by the button on the outside, when I press the button on either the key or the boot itself there is no noise of unlocking or anything. Replaced the fuse and still not working. any ideas?

Thanks

Actually not and the hilarity isn't really helping the OP who said his tailgate doesn't release from the switch or the key(fob). @DaveT70is probably nearer the mark.

Tough day at the office then? 😁

I've nothing against banter. I just happen to think that when a new member makes his first post it would be a lot more polite to try to provide a sensible answer.

With respect, most of us on this forum are not trained mechanics, (though some indeed are). We just offer the best guidance we can . If you are after definitive advice, it's always best to attend a proper garage, but often, a solution can be found here from people's own experience, and can steer towards a correct solution - but, it's not guaranteed...

Fair point but as I said the OP's problem could not have been due to a failed boot switch so it would have been better to try to suggest a realistic cause or refrain from posting..
