New Fiesta Vignale - Auto windows

Featured Replies

I’ve just bought a new Fiesta Vignale and have been told that auto powered windows will work in downward motion on drivers side ONLY.

Has anyone else been told this?

Apparently Ford altered the spec without telling prospective customers!

Probably true. It is so on my new Titanium I got two weeks ago. I don't think the wing mirrors are heated either - but I'm not absolutely sure.

You should have ordered a better spec, that's what you get when you buy the entry level trim 🤣

I may be being slow here, but how do you get them up again?

It's not at all like Ford to alter the spec without fully informing their customers!😀

No, I don't think they are. Another one they sneaked in (or should that be out) without telling. An eagle eyed member spotted that "heated" had disappeared from the features list some time back.

I expect soon new owners will be taking delivery of a body shell and told the specs have cut to the bone 🤣

Engine can’t go boom if they don’t give you one!

Didn't I check a mirror not long ago with this question?

I'm no vandal. I carefully pulled mirror glass off. So there.

How did you find that as I couldn't.

I searched for the word 'vandal' and it came up with you 🤣

Actually I think they are. I'm not brave enough to lever the wing mirror off but if I set the mirrors as far 'out' as they can go I can see the brown and grey wires to the heating element as in the picture above. That makes me happy for the coming winter 🙂

Well they actually are, that's what the photo shows. Me taking a mirror glass off to see. .to be fair I think it was a poverty spec titanium I pulled mirror off. Maybe the vignale hasn't. 🤣🤣🤣

Yes, good photo 👍 - I've kept it so I know what's inside in case I need to get the mirror off sometime. But the post above didn't say what car/trim/year it was so I wasn't sure what it applied to.

I have a current model ST, and yes only the driver’s window has auto (down only), button has to be held to raise both windows. Other ‘economies’ that I’ve noticed are that the flip down sunglass case in the roof has been deleted as have the velcro straps from the boot and the handbrake handle is now plastic when the pre-facelift car was leather (or at least leather effect).

Yet the price has gone up about 30%

I wonder if they actually wonder why they are no longer market leader?

As I understand it their limited semiconductor availability went into Transit in particular sales of which boomed during the pandemic. The production of the low margin Fiesta was deliberately limited hence its sales figures were low. Still the decision to end production in 2023 rather than 2025 baffles me - unless they need the space in Cologne for the forthcoming EVs.

My 22 Vignale has no auto close on any windows! As well as no Glovebox light. Supposedly top of the range car!!!

The Online only manual is useless too. A good way to hide the missing features!

Yes, now one touch to open only, and then only on drivers door.

List of missing stuff on the Mk 8.5 on this thread, add anything else you (dont) find!😀

That's strange as my 2012 titanium has one touch up and down on the drivers side only. Makes up for the keep fit windows on the back doors.
