Hi, I'm new to this forum and hope you can help me. We are currently in the market to buy a car and wanted opinions and to hear from owners of their Ford galaxy if they are happy? Are there any problems which I should be made aware if before purchase? Does anything go wrong and if yes then what exactly? Are they comfortable to drive and good on fuel?

    Worth getting the auto box serviced and the cambelt changed if not already done recently.

    I heard from quite a few people that gearboxes go wrong and fail.

    Are you aware of that?

    Personally I would prefer to avoid a car with a Powershift automatic gearbox.  I THINK that a 2013 Galaxy has one of these, but I may be wrong.  They can be OK if they have been well-maintained with regular (3 yearly) services (which cost about £350). So a 9 yr old car may not have been looked after as it should have been.

    I currently have a Powershift gearbox in my car.

    I find traditional torque converter autos smoother and more reliable and need less maintenance.
