2008 1.4 petrol C1095 abs pump replacement

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, nephews fiesta has the dtc C1095 on forscan, a little investigating shows abs pump needs replacing, anyone replaced one? Any tips?

First tip is you can't just replace the ABS pump, they are coded to the car. Next tip is FORScan can not reprogramme the ABS pump.

There are a few companies online that will repair/refurbish your faulty unit and then it should just reconnect up and work.

Replacement of the ABS module requires programming otherwise the car will become immobillized.

Programming can only be done with a new ABS module or a virginized refurbished ABS module. Since programming requires authorised access to the online Ford FDRS system you are basically limited to a Ford dealership. Apart from Ford dealerships and a few specialists there are virtually no independent garages that have the required authorization.

In strongly suggest to have your own ABS module refurbished in which case programming is not required.

I'm reading conflicting information about this, maybe I'll just send him to an actual garage 😂

You can generally take whatever advice @JW1982 to be correct and more accurate than your local garage. If he happens to see your post I'm sure he will be able to advise the best action for your car.

I did try finding the original post that you quoted that section from but couldn't find it.

Quick update on this...

It obviously failed the mot, took the pump out, took it to a local scrap yard, they said it will not need coding, they got me a replacement, I fitted it, job done!

No coding needed which was a major win!
