Cruise control

Featured Replies

Hi All, thought id resurrect this thread as my car has similar symptoms.  Before I start pulling plugs and being a bit more intrusive, would welcome your thoughts on cause, as its got me sceatching my head, thanks.

2013 (11.5MY) Focus estate, Cruise randomly stopped working last week.  I now have to start the car using both brake and clutch.

After reading and clear DTCs I get the following

After then pressing the clutch a short way so that only the top clutch switch is pressed, I don't get any more DTCs.  Then pressing the clutch all the way down and re reading DTCs I get this extra one. Which suggests switch A is bottom clutch switch?

Reading the clutch switch PIDs suggests they are working properly

P176E suggests a correlation error between the bottom(?) Switch and something.  Thinking it's checking correlation between the bottom switch going on/off at certain voltage or something, but id taken same data when all was working a while ago and it looks the same.

So would you just start replacing switches, checking voltages at connectors between switch and PCM/BCM?

The car still starts/drives fine at the moment, so don't want to risk more issues by unplugging/replacing stuff without a clear reason to yet.

Thanks

Yes, I wouldn't even be checking voltage, just changing the switch

Yes !!

Make sure to fit the correct ones. The top and bottom clutch pedal switches are different.

Thanks for the replies.  New bottom switch hasnt worked so will try the top one when it arrives in a couple days.  Hopefully do the trick 🤞

Again, Forscan dyslexia. If the thing tells you there is a correlation error between the bottom switch and something else IT IS TELLING YOU THAT THE SIGNAL FROM THE BOTTOM SWITCH IS WHAT IT EXPECTS TO SEE!
