MK2 Focus, Pat code 13, no start, no crank

Hey there, i'm 17 and money is extremely tight so wanting to try every option before i pay someone to do it for me. I have a 2009 ford focus zetec s 1,6 petrol. While i was driving all my electronics appeared to be failing and then the car shut off, had to get it recovered to my house. Everyone told me it was IC so i drove 3 hours to get it repaired by a specialist who does a lot of the ford focus clusters, he said there were the common cracked solder joints and 1 hour later told me it was all fixed and he was happy with it and on my way home I went, certain it would start. To my surprise It still wouldn't start, however all the electronics in my car were now working properly and had power steering again. When i turn the ignition on with the only key i have for the car, the mileage disappears, i have a few warning lights on the dash and the immobilizer light is going crazy, after waiting it displays code  1:3, which is key code not received however don't want to spend 300 i don't have getting a new key for it still not to work. I have tried all the immobilizer/IC fuses in passenger foot-well and engine bay, the ground looks good on the battery and on Facebook I am getting lots of mixed answers and all of which are going to costs hundred once added up. Does anyone know whats going on, I start my new job Monday 16th Jan and desperately need it by then to get to work etc. Please help

GEM gone down too, water ingress? Check all the electrical connections on the GEM (battery disconnected) if you see any green fur on the pins then you have had water ingress, you will need to get that fixed.

Check all electrical connections to the IP harness, make sure they are fully connected

BUT!

It sounds like the instrument cluster repair wasn't carried out properly.

You could probably do with getting FORScan and a decent lead and clearing all the codes, see what comes back

Did you get this sorted? Also have pat code 13 and my car won't crank / turn over so any help would be appreciated.

None, it's nothing to do with fuses.

There is a good chance it is due to poor lead free soldering on the instrument cluster @rd457 will be able to advise.

Your vehicle is one that suffers from a common fault of cracked solder joints in the instrument cluster's wiring connector. The instrument cluster is part of the PAT security system. Refusal to start is a common symptom. This could be the cause. I offer a repair service for this, you can read more about it in my eBay listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/314393033915

PATS code 13 is an issue with reading the key or a wrong key I believe. The transponder is a component located at the ignition barrel, used for reading the key's digital identity, with wires going to the instrument cluster, or at least certainly with the facelift Mk2. Cracked solder joints on the instrument cluster connector, cutting off the transponder, could cause such a key reading failure.
