Mk4 Focus 4yr service schedule

Featured Replies

Well, it's due its 4th yr service in March and IIRC there is a slight difference in what gets done.

I'm sure there was a price hike in the service costs plans at the dealers every 4th year.

Can anyone shed any light on it as I can't seem to find it online anymore.

Service schedules are still shown on the FordPass app.  They can no longer be accessed through ETIS.

Fuel filter might be 4th year on 1.5 TDCI but I'm more familiar with the 1.0 schedule.

Like my correspondence with Ford for my 3 year service on my Focus it will need "lot's more" done and be twice the price, but when asked to list the "lot's more" they couldn't.

Schedules are shown on FPA but it stil doesnt say what gets done. You are correct about ETIS though.

It does show on mine...  If you click the service it should show what's done.  I can even see that the drive belt for the MHEV generator needs replacing every 4 years so it's definitely tailored.

I'll go and have another look, thanks @TomsFocus

For reference, this is the sort of info that I have on FordPass.  (1.0 MHEV)

Isn't the 3rd year service just checking levels? I thought the main service is every 2 years, mines will be 3 years old this year and thought I would skip until the 4 year service, that is what it says in the manual even though the garage that serviced it at 2 years has put a sticker saying this year for a service, so is it every year or every 2 years? I do below average mileage.

Depends on the engine & year.  Ford don't use alternate Major & Minor like other manufacturers.  Each 'scheduled service' has specific items changed.

With a 2020 1.5 EcoBoost I would think you're on 2 yearly servicing, so there is no '3rd year' service necessary.  You will, of course, need an MOT at 3 years old, so it's up to you whether you choose to add an oil change at the same time just for peace of mind.

Thank you, my thoughts too, I was surprised the first filter and oil change was 2 years, back in the day it was important as the engine had to break in.

Manufacturing tolerances are now so precise the engine doesn't need to break in.  Should be as good on the day it leaves the factory as in 10k, 50k or even 100k.

I'm that old that I remember cars putting signs in the back window, saying slow running in.
