Ford Galaxy auto leveling headlights quiver

Featured Replies

Hi , I have a 2010 Ford Galaxy Titanium X  with the auto leveling headlights.

Last evening quit a few on coming cars were flashing at me, as if I were not dipping main beams (I was).

I stopped facing a shop window and I could see the reflection of my lights and they were both moving up and down ever so slightly.

It is like they can't quite find their level point. I am not getting any errors on the dash.

When I start the car they both drop down and then back up into position as normal.

Any thoughts as  to what may be going on ?

I have an identical problem.  Did you ever get to the bottom of it?  Very frustrating in the dark winter driving!

No, never got to the bottom of it. It has come up now as a NCT/MOT failure.

Did you ever resolve it ?

If you connect one of those funny code reader things, I am under the impression (probably false) that there might be a "Reset" for the auto levelling - probably only needed for new headlights, but might be worth a try.  I recently fitted two new front lamp units to my Focus, and it was suggested that before I got the beam adjusted, I should reset the auto levelling, but yet to do it.

Ensuring the bulbs are fitted correctly would be the first port of call
