Ford Power-Up Software 3.5.2.1 release

Featured Replies

Today I’ve just received my first Ford Power-Up OTA update taking it to 3.5.2.1

looking forward to Alexa in my car👍

So now I will have, Ford Posh Lady(Hello Ford), Siri, Ok Google and soon Alexa.
They will be all chattering to each other soon 🤣🤣

This was original released in Sept 2022 to Mustang cars, however it’s starting to roll out for Sync 4 versions of the Ford Focus.

More info on Ford Power-Up versions are here.

Some people may already have this on there Sync 4, depending on when your car was made and programmed at the car production plant in Germany,

My car was late August 2022 for the Sync programme update, of the production line in Mid September.

Ford Power-Up is separate to Sync 4.

Sync 4 is the whole software that runs the system.

Ford Power-Up is Fords version to allow incremental updates, software updates, engine updates with out a complete new version of a sync 4, which offers A much smoother process and enables the car and systems to stay up to date and needing less visits to the garage if there are software/firmware needed

Do let us know what version ur on and if ur on a higher version of Sync 4 and Ford Power-Up version.

My Sync 4 software version is the same as yours (21333). But how do I update that Power-Up software?

I've noticed that speed cameras are no longer showing on maps after this update, checked settings and alerts are still turned on. Anyone else noticed this?

Power up software happens automatically.

ensure you have set the auto updates to happen.  Mine happen at 3am each day if needed.

also if you can, ensure it’s connected to home wifi network.
you can try to do a manual update by choosing update now.

Drove to work this morning and all the speed cameras were picked up and sounded correctly.

is your still not working as the update was only to do in getting ready for Alexa. It didn’t do anything else or update Sync.

Still not working, no visual or audio alert. Checked all the settings I could find and was fine up until the update. Not a big deal will hopefully sort itself at some point.

The only other suggestion is a master reset.

but fingers crossed for next update, let us know.

It got updated today. I was wondering why the instrument cluster took so long to wake up after I started the car. Turns out it was probably because of the update.

  • 2 weeks later...

we're really behind with the updates...The Mustang owners already have the Android Auto/Carplay full screen option, while we're still waiting...

We need Ford PowerUp 3.5.3, but I don't think we'll get it soon...

I think they’re doing them in batches.

I’ve checked and nothing showing in back ground waiting.  So it’s when Ford release it.

at least now we know they are starting to update Sync 4

You noticed anything different in latest version.
can’t remember the last version I was on when I traded my car in, but it was earlier than that.

Nothing that seems to stand out. No extra features that I've found so far.

I have this version on MK4 2018 for more than 3 months, so nothing new 🙂

Ford is pushing the updates so slow... 😞

This is for MK4.5 2022+ with Sync 4 😄

not quite

but this sure helps them know when you make every trip, what you talk about in the car, who you ring when in the car, the radio stations and fake news you got to hear !!! just in case you are sensible enough not to use shop loyalty cards, it now shows where you go shopping, when you go shopping.  and in case not on the phone before now, all the places you put in your sat nav, so they can arrest all of you

Has this become a privacy freak thread or what? 😄

If you are aware of data that might be stolen, then please don't use a smart TV, go back to CRT, don't use a smartphone, go back to rotary dial phone, don't use Google Maps/Waze, go back with printed maps, use a at least 10-year-old car, and your data will not be collected anymore 🙂

I personally don't care about data collection since I'm not George Clooney to hide everything about me.

I agree this isn't the usual discussion point on a motoring forum.  But here's a few points it would be remiss not to highlight are all interconnected to this increased "convenience" of always connected vehicles.  We even know the dangers of distraction are impacting road safety and killing people.  But they are going for much bigger wins...

Its a bit like climate change none of it is great - but we all need to understand and as a greater community see the issues and work together for the right outcome.  Rather than be asleep and wonder what happened.

They are allowing crazy pollution from car manufacturing, with deliberate reduced reliability over the last 15 years, which they know full well increased environmental damage, and now changing to more polluting electric vehicles (40% bigger carbon footprint to make each one - when we now know how to make carbon neutral synthetic fuels that could run in a any ford petrol car), because an agreement has been made - they get to push up sales and their profits short term, by assisting in the change to restrict our freedoms

the point you just raised - I'm not worried - is exactly how they have marketed your move from basic freedoms and rights, to very shortly (next 2 to 3 years) none at all.  Many people are under so much stress and noise they are not noticing the change.  Each time you think you have some control and stability "fake" events around the world make you think, well I'm better off than the many in other countries thank goodness where I am is OK. But its not OK, nothing is accidental

No spare wheel, electric only, always online in car telemetry = limited movement and now the ability to track and hold at any time they want - with little ability to get around it

check out a few of the clues, like the "outrageously generous" proposed Scottish 14% nurse pay play - aka a 3% pay cut this year and a 5 % pay cut in year two

or the issue in africa and middle east in the last 4 months where they are refusing to let them people have their cash or indeed their money from the banks....    its not an isolated case - they are "slowly" (as in at breakneck real time speeds) moving everything to - do as you are told or we will effectively remove your rights and imprison you. - online features in the car is a major leap towards this.

Keep to topic please. This is about the Sync 4 software update.

with the next integration on Sync 4 Power Up software on the horizon being Alexa they will have more.
