Instrument cluster

Lcd panel on instrument  cluster was not working swap cluster panel for second hand one now car won't start  any help, thanks

Because you can't just stick a different module in like that, it needs to be programmed. Programming involves configuring the module for your specific vehicle (copying across the config). One aspect involves copying across the mileage, and there can be restrictions that prevent setting a value any lower than had already been set previously on the module being programmed. Note that it's a legal requirement to have accurate mileage. You can program it yourself if you have the right tools and know-how, something people here may be able to guide you through, or otherwise you'd need to send off to a reprogramming service which will cost you something like £100+.

Or, if it's just the LCD that wasn't working, you might simply be able to swap the LCD from the replacement unit into the old one. If you can't do that yourself I'm wiling to do it for you. I can't test it afterwards since I'm lacking the equipment currently, but I offer a different type of cluster repair service, and as a one off if you buy the cheaper of my services (links below) and send me both units I'll just swap in the new LCD and send them back to you.

The instrument cluster is part of the vehicle immobiliser system - PATS.

As @rd457 has said above the replacement IC will need programmed. Your keys will also require programming in to the new IC.

It can be done on your vehicle using the fully paid for version of FORScan (Windows version) and a good ELM327(modified) cable.

Probably pointless to reply further to this thread as it will get deleted very soon.

OP should have posted in the FUSION forum

The General Chat forum is ONLY for threads which DO NOT fit any other category. If your thread is anything do to with a specific model, it should go in the relevant model club section

That one!👆

You can't just fit a 2nd hand cluster.

Plus the keys are programmed to your cluster, that's why it won't start
