2008 Focus 1.8 Zetec Problems with Instrument Cluster.

Hi. The battery died on my Focus and had to buy another battery, when switching on the engine I found this problem,

The outside temp reading had changed to Fahrenheit instead of Celsius and on going on the menu to change it back to Imperial for Celsius readings the trip reading had changed to KM and had Celsius temp reading. Changed it back on the Metric setting - trip readings in MPH but outside temp  had changed back to Fahrenheit .

I have tried every web site, tried to reset it with the ignition on - engine running but no luck- even tried contacting Ford Customer Service for advice about this problem , only told to take to one of their dealers. It was suggested to reset the computer but I don't want start messing with this in case I screw some thing up .

Any help or advice from any one who has had the same problem and fixed it

    I think my son’s 2008 ST has been the same since new (degrees Fahrenheit when set to miles)

    If you open the temp 'page' (not menu) and then press set/reset button I think that may change it back.
