I haven't seen a digital clock like that in a UK Galaxy of this age, they have the analogue clock on top of the dashboard iirc. I think it's probably controlled automatically by the climate control panel in your car. Best advice I can offer is to switch the vents to face or feet instead of windscreen. And make sure the temp isn't set too high, about 20c should be fine. Also putting the climate to 'Eco' mode may stop the aux heater running as well. Trust me to have one that no one has seen ha ha. I remember when we got it yrs ago the gentleman had it from new and said for few yrs air con dont work and its not a re gas, i didnt mind as don't have too great heat in wales lol. Its so strange as did it yesterday am then didnt pm when i was out the checking clocks etc.

Personally, I would unplug the heater under the car and then see if you notice any problems. If not, then great, leave it unplugged. If you do notice issues (slower warm up, warning lights etc) then we'll have to rethink it.

Hi guys Not smoked until this am,i went under car with ,y mate and we think the electric connection is to the side of the dark box that the small exhaust so to say comes out of. We cannot get the electric connection apart,we have tried and tried. Any idea where is comes apart? There seems to be sort of clips on the side but lost as to pull apart push together ha ha( tried both amd still wont budge. Thanks again
TomsFocus
Yeah, that is the right plug. I can see it on some of the eBay ones, but I can't tell whether it's a push or pull clip. I have had another idea. Check the fuse list in the handbook. If there's only one fuse covering the aux heater then you can pull that out instead of unplugging the heater. Double check that nothing else is covered by the same fuse first though.

unofix
This is the Ford info on how the auxiliary parking heater works on the Ford Galaxy 2000 onwards: http://www.mirez.co.uk/Galaxy/PDF/Galaxy - Auxiliary Heater Information.pdf
iantt
Time for me to jump in. The white smoke will be due to the glow plug on the fuel fired heater is no longer working orhot enough or at all to burn the diesel being sprayed in. I've replaced a few of those ( a long time ago) as already said, the heater only kicks in under a certain outside temp and coolant temp. Un plugging won't do any harm . The connector is a fiddle to un plug. Need a small screwdriver under the plastic bar and lever gently. Or a right angled pick slide down the side of connector. Difficult to explain. It's typical VW connectors. Or easier to pull the fuse. 2
