Jibberish333
I've recently purchased a new dash cam for my Focus that is fitted with a hard-wire kit and fuse taps. I'm trying to figure out which fuses in the passenger footwell box to use but have hit a dead end so was hoping to get some advice here. I need 2 fuses, one with constant power and one which is ignition switched. While the manual tells me what each fuse is for this information isn't specified so as suggested in the kits manual/tutorials I was testing to see if current was flowing in the fuse in the different vehicle states. However whatever fuse I test in whatever state my vehicle is in they are all showing no current/voltage (just a completed circuit). This made no sense to me, does anyone have any idea what might be going on? Has any successfully tested fuses in the 2022 model before and happen to know which are switched Vs always on? Thanks in advance for the help/advice.
mrmetallica
id have thought you would just need a off with ignition

I guess it’s for a parking mode that if I don’t want I turn off in the cameras settings.
south_bound
sounds to me like you are not measuring the voltage properly - how are you doing this? Measuring voltage between the fuse location and an earth point should give you about 12V when the circuit is live - either all the time or when the ignition is on.
