Largest USB memory stick size

Featured Replies

Hi all

I thought its about time I transferred my cd collection onto USB to play back through my Sync in the car.

What's the largest capacity USB that both Sync 3 and Sync 4 can recognise and any recommendations on brand?

Thanks

I'm not aware of any limitation on the capacity, but Sync 3 will only index up to 50,000 tracks.

I've got a 500GB portable SSD on mine (I've put the SSD in the armrest and attached it to the USB socket in there) with around 10,000 songs in ALAC format with no problems.

'ONLY', I'm chuckling away here... at an average of 3 minutes/track, that's 2500 continuous hours of music, or 104 days (full 24 hour days). Exactly how long is your car journey??

Must admit i'm guilty of filling up a stick and the longest i do is around an hour. Did Kimera - the lost opera today at full whack bouncing down the road, i will get it louder when i finally get my sub installed. If you see a guy in a black mk2 with his ears bleeding its moi.

It would be really boring if it played the same music every time. It’s like having your own radio I just leave mine on shuffle. Only using 1500 of the 50000 though lol.

Stephens radio just plays grumpy old men complaining about young people over & over...  :whistling:

Yep, and what's worse, with the driver side gone, is that I now appear to be leaning left, that'll never do LOL

what is ALAC format ?

In the past I've had a 1TB ssd with around 32000 songs work without issue.

I've since reduced the drive size and fewer songs but now exclusively flac files.

I currently have a 16gb USB stick which is full with flac files.  Can't remember how many albums but a small debt in my collection lol.
