Remap and rear spoiler question please

Featured Replies

I have a 2013 1.0 zetec s,   Im wondering is there any difference in my rear spoiler compared to a ST spoiler , see my car below...

Also My car is in having a brand new 1.0 engine fitted to it,

Is is worth getting this remapped, not just for pure speed but in general is there any benefit to mapping a 1.0 and are the gains worth it,

anyone recommend anyone essex area trusted to remap it if its worth doing ?

And would you do this on a brand new engine or would you wait a while, if so how long etc.

Thanks guys

Which power level is it?  If it's a 140 then not much point mapping it.  If it's a 100 then I'd say it's almost a necessity in the heavy Focus lol.  If it's a 125 I'd say drive it to a couple of weeks and see how you feel.

I had a 125 briefly and found the torque severely lacking compared to the diesels I was used to.   Other on here claim they're more than adequate so it's personal preference really.

MPG is unlikely to improve much with a map on these.

Be aware it may void your warranty if there is any on the new engine.

Apart from anything else if your new Engine goes belly up and you have had it Mapped, then I doubt if you could make a successful warranty claim.

What gearbox? If it’s the 5 speed I wouldn’t map it.

The ST spoiler is slightly squarer. Same sort of size though.

worth changing look wise, or not enough difference between the 2 you think ?

125 is 6 speed with dual mass flywheel.

100 is 5 speed with solid flywheel.

I changed from the standard Zetec spooiler to the Zetec S spoiler, which is Like yours, I prefer the shape to the squarer ST spoiler, all about what you want, but as previously said, I don't think it's worth changing from what you've got.
