Key fob

Featured Replies

My key fob won't unlock or lock the car by the buttons anymore. Tried changing battery and still the same but I know it still works as when taken apart I can get it to work just not when all together. What is the problem and how could I fix it?

First, make sure you are using a good quality battery.

Second, make sure the terminals are touching the battery correctly

The battery is fine. Is there an easy way to make sure the terminals touch correctly

That's the important bit. Also, the battery should be pushing out 3.3v despite whatever brand you choose to use. It's definitely the 'contacts' as you have proved yourself the fob works perfectly, just not when the casing is closed on it signifying the case is dislodging the battery in some way to lose contact!

You can bend then slightly, it can be the two prongs or the side terminal that doesn't touch
