Tips for getting cone Air Filter back into silicon elbow?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Nice day today so I went to clean engine bay and filter in my ST. Have an Airtec set of pipes, silicon elbow and cone air filter,

Just wondering if anyone has tips on how to get the filter back into the elbow securely without pushing so much on the filter it would push the centre plastic of filter back inside itself?

Cheers

Very light application of lubricant and then twist it into position rather than just pushing.

'Lubricant' can also include a smear of Fairy Liquid!

Other brands of washing-up liquid are available

Can you put the silicone elbow in a container of boiling water to soften it up?

Yes, you can even add a little Fairy Liquid

That's what she said!!! 😉

Now, is it just me, or has everyone now lost the gravitas of the OP original question? LOL
