Focus mk2 boot leak

Featured Replies

Hi got a boot leak right hand side facing boot sealed hinge and light still coming could it be rear quarter glass and anyone know how to remove thanks

Rear quarter glass is bonded in.  It would have to be cut out with cheese-wire and then bonded in again to refit.

I doubt it's that leaking though.  How far back is the damp patch?

There are multiple reasons of having a leak in the rear - this was what caused mine...

Fair enough, could be there then.  Rain pooling should mean that it's not the rear screen wash hose leaking.

I have also seen the roof gutters crack right at the back.  Might be worth lifting up the black plastic gutter trim to check.

Thanks guys maybe look at light again didn’t seal where little prongs of light go in and if not remove roof strip is that hard to remove and refit?

It just peels out.  Might be able to do it with fingers, otherwise you can pry it out with a plastic trim tool.

Should just push back into place afterwards.
