2019 focus at line engine light

Featured Replies

I need some advice!

I have a 2019 Ford focus ST-line. Bought this car jan this year. So I am driving yesterday and the engine light comes on and it goes into limp mode. No power at all. I took it to a grave to have a diagnostics done and it showed codes relating to the turbo. I am now being told I will need the turbo replaced which is going to set me back £1100. However if I turn the engine off and then start it again there’s no engine light and the turbo is working fine again and then after a while the engine light will come back on and then go into limp mode. I don’t know if I’m right but surely if I needed a new turbo I wouldn’t have any power in the car at all? Any help or advice is really appreciated thank you

Which engine is it?  Have you got the exact fault codes?

How many miles is on the car?

Is there any mods done to the car (remaps, exhaust changes, intercooler change etc)?
