New clutch - sudden bite when lifting the pedal

Featured Replies

Hello,

I had the clutch replaced the other day on my MK3 focus 1.0 ecoboost. I have noticed that sometimes in the morning when I put it in gear and start releasing the clutch nothing happens for a second and the all of the sudden it bites and jerks the car a bit.

The bitting point is still very low( you don't have to lift the pedal much for it to bite)but nevertheless I can feel the sudden yank even when I'm releasing the clutch pedal VERY slowly. Like I said nothing happens when lifting pedal for a couple of inches and then it suddenly bites as if you released the pedal too quickly. This only seem to happen in the mornings after starting the car.

I this something I should be concerned about? Or will it go away over time ?

Thank you.

That's definitely not right. I wonder if there's some air in the hydraulics. If it was me I'd take it back and get it looked at while still under warranty.
