Hi, does anyone knows what type gearbox in automatic ford focus zetec 1.5 tdci model end of 2016 uk model?

Part No: DS7R-7211, also F1FR-7000-Fd?

Problem is some info pointing me to the dual clutch gearbox where there is a dry clutch similar to manual transmission but looking on eBay by the part number of mine I can't see the dry clutch on the ones for sale.

Any advice will help.

Thanks

It is dual clutch, but wet clutch.  Known as MPS6i or 6DCT451.

Thanks so much for clearing that, the car was driving fine then last week started juddering when I am taking off from stop or coming to slow down at a red light, the 2 days a go the transmission malfunction came on the screen I stopped the car and I found oil leak, also I don't have experience with auto transmission but even when the car in P it feels like it is not running straight and trying to engage in gear is that normal when these transmission goes bad?

I don't have any direct experience with this gearbox either unfortunately.

From your description, it definitely sounds like somethings physically broken though, rather than just needing an oil change or an ECU reset.  All I can really suggest is contacting a local transmission specialist and letting them know the symptoms.

I suspect it'll need a new clutch pack at the very least, which is around £750 just for the part, plus a few hours labour.  If it's trying to engage in P, then there's potentially a larger fault as well.

If you haven't owned the car long and bought it from a dealer, or if it's on finance, you may be able to get some financial help with the repair.

Please do let us know what happens as that helps others with a similar problem in future.

Check and rectify leaks, change transmission fluid, for correct fluid and the filter

Do not drive if fluid is low, keep topping up until you can rectify leak

Your transmission is DCT450 wet clutch

Spoke to my local gearbox specialist and they said they rather change the box than fixing it as parts not cheap and they quoted me £5k for the job, also he mentioned this jump like it is engaging could be bad dual flywheel causing it

The leak coming exactly where the gearbox attached to the engine and it is definitely transmission oil not engine oil.

Just rectify the leak at a garage that knows what they are doing, not just going to charge you £5k for the fun of it.

Low fluid causes shift issues, you won't have a contaminated clutch because it's a wet clutch system.

Get the leak fixed and a fluid change and filter at the same time, in the mean time, keep topping it up

Search YouTube for "Powershift oil leak". There is a good video for a Kuga which shows why it leaks. If you are lucky it just needs a new oil seal or may need a complete clutch pack. Find a workshop who has knowledge of these.
